Be Secure In God's Love

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?... (Romans 8:35, NKJV)

Many of us know theoretically that God loves us. However, we find that in spite of this knowledge, challenging situations do not cease to come our way. And when they come, we sometimes begin to question if He truly loves us. Some start to wonder, "have i sinned?", "have i done something to offend God and He's suddenly become unfavorably disposed towards me?" "Why has He stopped loving me"? Well, such questions only reveal that deep down in our hearts, we weren't really secure in our belief that He loves us.

When Men Fail To Help, Don't Be Disappointed

I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. (Psalms 121:1, 2 NIV84)

When in dire need, it's typical for us to look to the people around us who, in our estimation, are able to meet the need. However, if for some reason, they don't help, we become hurt, disappointed, and sometimes offended. As this scenario repeats itself, we develop a 'blacklist' of people who we tag undeserving of our love, mercy and goodness. Thus, leaving behind a trail of broken or unhealthy relationships - simply because they didn't help us.

The Way He Loves You

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. (John 13:34 NKJV)

There is a way the world trains us to love people. The world teaches you to love your friends but hate your enemies. The more imperfections the world see in you, the less they'll accept you or be favourable towards you. If you're considered weak, burdensome or a liability in the eyes of the world, you will be left out of a lot of good things, because they seek their own well-being before others.Beloved, this is contrary to the way God shows love.

Rejoice With Those Who Rejoice

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. (Romans 12:15 NKJV)

Some people find it hard to "rejoice with those who rejoice". When others around them get the blessings that they've always desired to have, they begin to feel negative emotions, such as jealousy, or in extreme cases, envy, anger and resentment. These negative emotions stem from the negative thoughts they have concerning the fact that someone else has got the blessing they desired.

Are You Casting Stones?

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” (John 8:7 NKJV)

The saducees (teachers of the law) and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” (John 8:4, 5 NKJV).
